Cilomilast (SB-207499)是一种有效的PDE4抑制剂，IC50为110 nM，具有抗炎活性和弱的中枢神经系统活性。Phase 3。

Cilomilast作用于U937细胞，使cAMP含量增多，这种作用存在浓度依赖性。在分离的人类单核细胞中Cilomilast和(R)-rolipram抑制 LPS诱导的TNF-α形成时，效果差不多，IC50分别为7.0 和7.2。Cilomilast和(R)-rolipram 都适度抑制fMLP诱导的人类中性白细胞脱粒。Cilomilast和(R)-rolipram抑制中性白细胞活性，效果差不多，IC50分别为7.1和6.4。
在体内，Cilomilast抑制人类TNFα产生，ED50为4.9 mg/kg。抑制TNFα产生时Cilomilast和R-rolipram效果差不多，但是用于治疗reserpine诱导的体温过低时，Cilomilast (ED50为2.3 mg/kg,口服) 比R-rolipram (ED50为0.23 mg/kg,口服)有效性要低10倍。在时间过程研究中, Cilomilast (30 mg/kg,口服) 抑制TNFα产生至少持续10小时。在Balb/c鼠的慢性唑酮诱导的接触敏感模型中测评 Cilomilast调节体内白细胞介素4产量的能力。局部处理Cilomilast(1000 μg)，抑制白细胞介素4的损伤浓度。
