DescriptionObtained from Nerine sarniensis and Zephyranthes candida, this alkaloid crystal_x0002_lizes as colourless plates from Me2CO and has [0:]0 + 155° (CHC13). It contains three methoxyl groups, a secondary hydroxyl group and a methylimino group, the latter in a five-membered ring. Oxidation with KMn04 in Me2CO furnishes albomaculine.
