| (2R,5R)-Aspidofractinine-1,3β-dicarboxylic acid dimethyl ester Usage And Synthesis |
Description | Also present in the roots of Pleiocarpa rnutica Benth., this alkaloid yields colour-less crystals when recrystallized from EtOH. It is strongly laevorotatory with
[α]24D - 151° (c 1.39, CHC13). Two methoxycarbonyl groups are present in the
molecule and the base furnishes a crystalline hydrochloride, m.p. 234-5°C (dec.);
a perchlorate, m.p. 264-5°C (dec.) and the picrate, m.p. 199-200°C (dec.). | References | Kump, Schmid., Helv. Chim. Acta, 44, 1503 (1961)
