Description | One of the Strychnos alkaloids, this base is found in S. psilosperma and yields
colourless crystals from MeOH. It has [α]22D + 88° and gives a picrate as yellow
needles from MeOH, m.p. l73-5°C and a methiodide, M.p. 30l-3°C. The
methoperchlorate begins to decompose at 250°C and the N-oxide, which forms
colourless crystals from Me2CO, has m.p. 241-3°C. | References | Anet, Hughes, Ritchie., Austral. 1. Chem., 6, 58 (1953)
