Use and synthesis of Nimesulide

Nimesulide is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug with anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic effects.

 Listed in China in 1997, Nimesulide has been listed in the product dosage forms including tablets, capsules,

 granules, dry suspension, gel. The original approved indications were for the treatment of symptoms such as 

chronic arthritis, pain and inflammation after surgery and acute trauma, and fever due to upper respiratory

 infections.

Pharmacological action

Nimesulide is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug with anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic effects. 

The mechanism may be related to inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis, leukocyte release and oxidation of 

polymorphonuclear leukocytes.

pharmacokinetics

Oral administration of the drug absorption is rapid and complete, widely in the body and plasma protein binding,

 free drugs only 0.7% to 4.0%. It is mainly distributed in the extracellular fluid, and the metabolites in the liver are 

mainly 4-hydroxyl derivatives, which are excreted from the urine and feces, and the half-life of drug elimination is 

1.96 ~ 4.73h
