Steps:

Under nitrogen protection,Prepare 220 mL of 3M methyl Grignard reagent tetrahydrofuran solution at room temperature using methyl chloride and magnesium metal.Take 45 mL of 3M methylmagnesium chloride and put it into the dropping funnel. The temperature is controlled at -10 °C, and cyclohexanone (9.8 g, 0.1 mol) is added dropwise to dissolve in 35 mL of tetrahydrofuran solution. The temperature control during the dropwise addition does not exceed 0 °C. After the completion of the dropwise addition for 30 minutes, the reaction was completed by GC, and quenched with 2M hydrochloric acid to adjust pH = 3-4, ethyl acetate was added and the mixture was separated, washed with saturated brine and dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate. The organic layer was filtered and dried, and after adding 50 mL of 1,2-dichloroethane and 0.6 g of p-toluenesulfonic acid, the mixture was heated to reflux and dehydrated, and the organic layer was heated to reflux under reflux, and then added with anhydrous magnesium sulfate (3 g), and then filtered. A 1,2-dichloroethane solution containing 1-methylcyclohexene (external standard calibration: product yield: 92%) was obtained and used directly in the next reaction.
