2.4 General Procedure for the1, 4-DHP Derivatives Synthesis

General procedure: In a 25mL round-bottomed fask, aldehyde (1mmol), ethyl acetoacetate (methyl acetoacetate, acetoacetate) (2mmol), ammonium acetate (1 mmol), and the catalyst (0.01 g,0.0016mmol) in 10ml ethanol were added. The reactionmixture was stirred at 60°C. After completion of the reactionwhich was traced by TLC, the catalyst was separated byusing an external magnet. The pure product was obtained bycrystallization of the crude material from ethanol.
