2.3. Ditosylmethane
The synthesis of ditosylmethane was conducted according to theliterature with some modifications [15]. Silver p-toluenesulfonate(1 g, 3.58 mmol) was suspended in 10 mL of acetonitrile in the flaskconnected to the condenser and charged with a stir bar. Afterdiiodomethane (0.14 mL, 1.7 mmol) was added dropwise to thissuspension, the mixture was heated at reflux for 12 h, and cooled toroom temperature. The light yellow solid was filtrated and volatileswere removed under vacuum, and then the residue was chromatographed on silica gel eluting with 25% ethylacetate in hexane toafford 0.64 g (88% yield) of ditosylmethane as a white crystallineproduct. 1HNMR (500 MHz, CCl3D) d 2.47 (s, 6H), 5.83 (s, 2H),7.26e7.28 (m, 4H), 7.60e7.62 (m, 4H); 13C NMR (CCl3D, 100 MHz)d 21.73, 87.98, 127.97, 129.78, 133.25, 145.41; MS (ESI): m/z 379(M Na) .
