5.2.4 General procedure for the synthesis of (E)-hydroxybenzaldehyde oximes (10a-d)

General procedure: To a solution of the opportune hydroxybenzaldehyde 9a-d (4.1mmol) in DMSO (3ml) was added an aqueous (2ml) solution of NH2.HCl (14.3mmol). The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 4h then diluted with H2O and extracted with EtOAc and the organic extracts washed with H2O. The evaporation of the dried organic layer gave a solid residue that was triturated with CHCl3 and the product was filtered and purified crystallization (Et2O/Hex) to obtain 10a-d pure.
