General procedure: (for the synthesis of compounds 5, 31, 42 and 45) [1,1' -bis (diphenylphosphine) ferrocene] palladium dichloride (200mg, 0.27mmol), and potassium acetate (1.589g, 16.2mmol) was added into 30mL 1,4-dioxane solution of bromobenzene (5.4mmol) and Bis(pinacolato)diboron (1.647g, 6.49mmol). The mixture was heated to reflux overnight under a nitrogen atmosphere. After extraction and concentrated, the residue was purified by column chromatography to afford the product.
