A solution of the compound of Preparation 194 (11.0 g, 38.1 mmol) and palladium(II) hydroxide (1.10 g, 7.83 mmol) in methanol (100 ml) was heated to 60° C. at a pressure of 300 psi under a hydrogen atmosphere for 18 h. The reaction mixture was then filtered and concentrated in vacuo and the residue was re-crystallised from hot acetonitrile (50 ml) to give the title compound (3.27 g).Experimental MH+ 201.3; expected 201.11H-NMR (CD3OD): 1.50-1.55 (3H), 2.15-2.20 (3H), 2.20-2.25 (3H), 4.40-4.50 (1H), 6.80-6.85 (1H), 6.90-6.92 (2H), 6.95-7.00 (2H)Rhip.
