A solution of 2-(tetrahydro-2H-pyran-4-yl)acetic acid (17.3 g, 120 mmol) in DCM (400 ml_) and DMF (1 ml_) at 0 °C was treated with oxalyl chloride (30.5 g, 240 mmol). The mixture was then warmed to 20 °C and stirred for 16 h. The mixture was concentrated to give the title compound (19.5 g, quant.).
