Description
Ferulic acid methyl ester (Methyl ferulate) is a derivative of ferulic acid, isolated from Stemona tuberosa, with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It is an alkyl ferulate ester that widely exists in edible plants and has application value in the food and medicine industries.
Synthesis
Methyl ferulate was synthesized by methanol and ferulic acid with strongly acidic cation exchange resin as catalyst under microwave irradiation.
