2-propionylthiophene (1.5g) was dissolved in trifluoroacetic acid (10 mL) at 0 °C, added with 4 eq of triethyl silane, and stirred at room temperature overnight.
Purification by column chromatography gave 2-n-propylthiophene.
Yield, 92%.
1H NMR (CDCl3, 400 MHz): δ 7.10 (d, J = 4.0 Hz, 1H), 6,91 (dd, J= 4.0, J = 5.0 Hz, 1H), 6,78 (d, J= 5.0 Hz, 1H), 2.79 (t, J= 7.4 Hz, 2H), 1.69(m, 2H), 0.90(t, J = 7.4 Hz, 3H). ESI-MS m/z: 127.0 [M+H]+.
